After last years war with Hezbollah, Israeli citizens had to flee the north because their bomb shelters were not prepared for any extended stay.
The majority of bomb shelters throughout Israel have been neglected for over 30 years.

Another war is imminent and the enemies of Israel are being equipped right now with long range missiles, leaving Israelis with no where to flee.
Tikvat Am Yisrael began renovating bomb shelters in the north. We've successfully completed five shelters, but we urgently need your financial support to renovate as many shelters while there is still time.
Rony Jordan, director of Tikvat Am Yisrael, has been a general contractor for 20 years in the United States. As an Israeli citizen, his professional knowledge and a command of the Hebrew language allows him to expedite the efficiency of each renovation. Together with local sub-contractors, the average length of time to complete a shelter is 4 - 6 weeks. The average cost to renovate a shelter (capacity of 40-50 people) is approximately $15,000 (US).
Tikvat Am Yisrael is a grassroots nonprofit organization. We do not have a large overhead. When you donate funds for the purpose of renovating a shelter, you can be sure that your money will go directly to the work in the field.
We are challenging churches, synagogues and organizations to "Adopt A Shelter". Your name will be placed on a plaque at the shelter entry by grateful residents of the building.
It is important to understand that shelter renovation is much easier to do during peace time. The window of opportunity is closing. The time to act is NOW.
